Arizona Sunset

Today we return to one of my favorite places to shoot locally and that is Tempe Town Lake. Over the years I’ve spent countless hours shooting here and yet it never gets old. 

This location always provides a great backdrop for a variety of subjects. I’ve done senior photo shoots as well as family portraits here. As you can see in the image above the sunsets across the water can be special. In addition to the lake there are several bridges to work with as well. One of these being a train bridge that makes for gritty grungy backgrounds. Perfect for high school senior photo shoots.

Of course I think the big draw for me are the sunsets that only Arizona can provide. I’ve seen quite a few awesome sunsets as Mother Nature seems to have an endless supply of them. Couple those incredible fire lit skies with the water and you have yourself  one heck of a sunset .

The shot above was taken while out on a photo walk with some photog friends. As I look over this image I can’t help but think how cool it would be to have a bride and groom standing on the dock holding each other. Hmm, something for next time.
