The monsoons were in full force again last night as a strong series of storms rolled through the Phoenix area.
We’ve had two nights in a row where the Phoenix suburbs have been pounded with monsoon storms. It makes it nice not to have drive 70 miles to find lightning for a change. The strike pictured above was taken from Tempe looking towards Phoenix.
July has started off with a bang here in terms of lightning and monsoon type weather. Let’s hope it holds.

Dude, this is seriously wicked. The city at the bottom adds such a feeling of immense size to the lightning. Also, I don’t think I want to break this to see who gets their wish granted.
