Shadow Dancing

A young couple dancing.

I just wanted to throw out a quick preview of one of the shots I got from this past weekend’s workshop.  On Sunday I got to spend the day with Don Giannatti.

I’ve been a big fan of Don’s over the years and was super stoked to finally meet him.  This workshop was all about lighting and I was soaking up every minute I could.  Don has a great approach to teaching and I love the fact he is very hands on and lets the student to do the work.  For me it is the only way to learn.

The shot above was in studio and lit with speedlights (3 to be exact).  I just absolutely love the shadow effect on the walls from these two agile dancers.   I have a lot more to share so be on the lookout for a future post highlighting the whole day.

Until next time…

  1. Those shadows make the shot Chris! what a great experience that must have been! Good for you and can’t wait to see more!

  2. Wonderful shot Chris. I attended my first workshop in the fall with someone that I really respected. I was amazed on how much I learned as opposed to trying it myself. I can’t wait to see more images from your workshop.

  3. Brilliant! Those shadows add an extra dimension to what was already a masterful shot. The lighting was clearly spot-on.
