30 Coach

Today’s post is from our summer trip to Durango Colorado. One of our adventures was to ride the narrow gauge railroad from Durango to Silverton. I highly recommend this trip if you are ever in the area. The views are amazing.
When riding the train you get your choice of several car options (and prices). The open car which you can see in the back sounds great at first until you hit one of those notorious mountain storms and get soaked. We were thankful to be in 30 Coach which was closed in but had windows.
Until next time…

Love this. Fantastic composition, and the shallow DOF works really well here.
Nice colours and bokeh here. Trains are great subjects.
Man, I totally want to come out and ride the rails. This sounds like a good time, minus the getting soaked in the open car bit. How long of a ride is it?
A little over 2 hours.
Really like your composition on this shot. well done.
Love the selected focus and color Chris. I didn’t get the storm but froze my ass off but it was still worth it.
Great composition and love the DOF Chris!
Makes me want to take a train ride. Love the color and the angle.
that’s cool, I love shots like this Chris, well seen and shot!
Totally awesome, Chris! I love the romance of railroad imagery, and you’ve done a smash-up job here on this one!
Love the rich yellow color and the depth of field!
Great shot Chris love the bright color. Sound like you guys had fun!
Ahhh, one of my favorite subjects. Love this shot with it’s vivid color and DoF.
I’m a sucker for trains and train image. Ironically I was channel surfing though the History Channel tonight and they were doing a short segment on this very line.
Great image, the colors really pop.
