Today’s post is an image of Watson Lake near Prescott Arizona. I was able to capture this amazing view right at the golden hour on our recent camping trip.  After setting up our campsite we made our way over to the lake.  I had seen the clouds in the sky and knew this might be my only chance to get shots with something other than a blue sky.   I wasn’t going to miss the opportunity.

As the sun began its descent the whole lake took on that famous AZ red tint.  It is times like these when you wish you could clone yourself and be in 5 different spots at once.  My fellow photogs know what I mean.  🙂

We are blessed here in the desert with stunning sunsets.  I’ve lived here since ’98 and this one has to be near the top.  If you are ever near Prescott AZ, I encourage you to make a stop by Watson Lake and see the Dells.

One last note that I found interesting, geologists put these rocks at 1.4 billion years old.  Don’t you know they have a few stories to tell.

Until next time…

  1. Captures the imagination and makes me want to fly over the view. The sky invites me to come and the clarity of the water draws me deeper still. This is a good picture, well done.
